Do notice that this lottery scam comes from a british.co.uk email domain, however this is not true.  It is a cloaking technique to make you think that this is the originator’s email address.  The British Lottery Online Service is a fictitious entity, and even if there is such a legitimate organization, do know that identity thieves like to use reputable business names to further their reach with the trusting individual.

British Lottery Online Service scam may lead to identity theft

The email offers you a reference and batch numbers:

Ref: UK/9420X2/68
Batch:074/05/ZY369

They are there to make the reader think that this email is from an office of the British Lottery Online Service.  This is done to give reputation to the email and to make you read the rest of the copy.

The random sum of money is there to entice the potential victim to act on the “opportunity” and to provide personal information listed from 1 – 8.  Don’t ever succumb to such demands, especially knowing so very little about the company.  Meeting the demands of the con artists may aid identity theft and depletion of funds from your bank accounts.

British Lottery Online Service Fraud Last 3 Lines

In order to receive the bogus check you must contact Mr. Peter Taylor.  Peter is a fictitious claims agent and his clamesagent02@googlemail.com email address further proves that point.  If the British Lottery Online Service was a reputable institution you would not be replying to a Google email address.  Don’t get duped.  Stop identity theft and financial fraud at its tracks by learning about the dangers lurking around your email.  Use this blog as a tool to help you in your protection from identity.
