The assailants are requesting you to forfeit your personal information in order to receive this “fund.” Don’t reply or contact the identity thieves for any reason. The money is a hoax and your identity and financial security is in danger.

Okay, I just have to say it: although many ID theft practices are subtle and hard to detect, I can’t believe people could still fall for *this* particular one.
Honestly, the opening paragraph reads like that “I’m in Nigeria and I need someone to help me get $20,000 to the U.S…” e-mail…
That said, good that you posted this; hopefully anyone receiving this mail will look it up online for verification and land on this or another site issuing a warning against it.
Thanks a bunch for posting this.

Dear Radek,
I received one such email, and in response to the first mail received from FOREIGN REMITTANCE DEPARTMENT , NATWEST BANK PLC., I did reply with my basic details and my bank account number, bank code, address etc. I then received a second mail asking for a fund release order, which I haven’t replied to.
Is my account already exposed to fradulent activity from this company. If yes, what course of action should I take.
Please Advise.
Regards
Swati

are you located in the U.S.? If yes, report the activity to your local police department and go to Federal Trade Commission website: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/ this site has some of the best information to help you with identity theft.
If you aren’t from the U.S., consider utilizing the same advice and incorporate it in your country of residence.
